DISCIPLESHIP

Purpose

Cohort discipleship is designed to create a movement that facilitates substantial growth in grace and truth in the context of community where going into the world and the church to make more disciples is of paramount importance

WHAT IS A COHORT?

A group of people of the same gender meeting regularly for the purpose of holistic growth in life as a follower of Jesus

Cohorts are:

  • Structured - usually comprised of 3-7 people

  • Intensive - they require preparation and participation

  • Gender-based - men's and women's groups are available

  • Perpetual - they are are not seasonal but long-term

FELLOWSHIP

Meaningful relationships are essential to growing in Christ. Our cohorts are intended for you to form relationships that are essential and necessary for life. We don't want you walking the road of faith alone.

PRAYER

In our cohort groups we pray for one another. As we share life together, we read each other into the burdens and challenges we face so we learn to, not only face them together, but to turn them over to the Lord.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Real community has some measure of accountability to it. In our cohort groups we realize that no one opens his or her life up to another individual overnight, it takes time and trust. But we are in it for the long haul, and know that we need the help of others so we can persevere in our walk with Christ.

LIFE OF THE MIND

We stretch ourselves through reading robust material to strengthen our worldview, engage theology and understand how to engage the world with our faith

LIFE IN THE SPIRT

We read and discuss rich material about the spiritual life in order to grow in our character and deepen our walk with the Lord.

LIFE IN THE WORD

We study the Bible together and mine its riches for application to transform our lives.

LIFE IN THE WORLD

We engage in service as a cohort representing Lifeline in our broader culture and community

AN APPEAL

Cohort discipleship is intended to stretch you and afford you the opportunity to grow with others as you live the gospel life together in a missionally-focused and mutually encouraging community.

We recognize that living as a follower of Jesus in this world can be hard. The journey is uphill, and if we don't keep climbing, we will all slide backward. There is no neutral.

Those in your life need you to be a lifelong learner who is seeking to be fully committed and fully equipped as a person of impact.
