Lifeline Students Ministry Overview
Belong - Believe - Become
Five Core Areas:
Gospel Identity (2 Cor. 5:17)
Who we are in Christ should preceed absolutely everything about us, and our understanding of who we are, who others are in light of the cross, and what God has called us and equipped us to be in Him.
Biblical Literacy (2 Tim. 3:16)
Students will be growing in their possession of God’s word so as to gain ownership of it in real ways for their lives now and in preparation for adulthood.
Biblical Theology (Heb. 13:9)
Students will be growing in their ability to define and understand the primary doctrines of orthodox Christianity in order to impact the way they think and live in an ever-increasing world that is opposed to Christ.
Biblical Community (Heb. 10:24-25)
Students will be growing in how to relate rightly, and in God honoring ways, toward each other for their mutual benefit, maturity, and impact for Christ.
Biblical Outreach (Mark 10:45)
Students will be growing out of more self-centered ways and in to more others-centered ways, so that they can be in line with God’s heart for all to know and relate with Him - both in word and in deed.
All five core areas culminate in continual Life Transformation (Rom. 12:1-2) as our students live out their beliefs as a disciple of Christ in all areas of life.
The Why:
Young people crave to know
Who am I?
Where do I fit?
What difference can I make?
At Lifeline Students, we strive to provide a Christ-honoring, Bible-believing environment where our five core areas of ministry work to answer these questions and more. In doing so, we pray that our students find meaning and passion for living out their faith on mission for God's glory and purposes as they grow in their sense of belonging, believing, and becoming life-long followers of Christ:
Belong: We hope students know that they’re loved and valued here! We want our students to encounter a highly relational ministry led by loving and caring adult leaders and as expressed by other students.
Believe: As they encounter a “belonging” atmosphere, again with our teaching and ministry having deep roots in the truths of God’s word, then Lord willing, the Spirit will inevitably move in the lives of our students as they begin to truly believe and joyfully embody the gospel we’re teaching and seeking to further in the lives of our students.
Become: We long to see more and more young, gospel-centric disciples of Christ grow in and out of Lifeline Students. Becoming a disciple of Christ is when head knowledge moves to the heart, which is then carried out through the hands in real-world, lived out application of faith based living.
The Who:
This ministry is for students in 7th-12th grade. Students will begin attending starting in June at the end of their sixth grade year through the summer after their senior year of high school.
The How:
We meet regularly on Wednesdays, 6:30PM-8:30PM, for worship, time in the Word, small group gatherings, and fellowship. Lifeline Students also promotes:
Bimonthly gender/grade-based discipleship cohorts
Monthly fun activities and/or outreach
Joint-church fall retreat
